The Hamilton Watch Company came into being in 1892 when the Keystone Watch Standard Company was acquired by a group of Lancaster businessmen. The aim of the company was to create "America's Finest Watch - snd this was the legacy of this brand name.
Incorporating elegance, innovative design and excellent engineering skills, Hamilton watches were renowned throughout American history. From its inception in the late 19th Century, it was setting up a high standard for its peers. Due to top quality precision works of this time, the early pocket watches were famous as the "Watch of Railroad Accuracy."
The company was also supplier to the American military during the 1910s. In the Second World War, the Hamilton chrono-meters were popular watches amongst the armed forces. And in the 1970s, they were the first to introduce the digital watch. It continues to be a brand name all over the world. This is reinforced by the role of Hamilton watches in numerous Hollywood movies like Men in Black and Fight Club.
Hamilton Watch Company created landmark models. The Ventura was the world's first battery powered watch. Designs like the Tuxedo, Pacer and Pulsar continue to change the face of modern watches by introducing a unique blend of quality craftsmanship and intricate designs. Even today, old classics like the "Hack" are eagerly sought after by avid watch collectors.
