International Watch Co. - Timeless
IWC or International Watch Co. is a leading watchmaking company that is world renowned for its creative designs and innovative craftsmanship.
The IWC started out in 1868 when Florentino Ariosto Jones established a watchmaking business in Switzerland. His aim was to utilize the excellent watchmaking skills of the Swiss worker to create up-and-coming designs for the American market.
Jones was able to expand his business when he met up with Johann Heinrich Moser, a watchmaker and a manufacturer from Schaffhausen. Both of them joined together to become leading watchmakers for that region.

IWC has created numerous groundbreaking designs. Pallweber, IWC's first digital pocket watch, was a sought after device then and is still considered to be a collector's item. In the 1930s, IWC released a model catering to aviators. These were classy pieces that boasted antimagnetic mechanisms.
Their compass watches, released in 1978, were also much sought after. IWC also spearheaded new technologies like titanum bracelets in the late 1970s.
Popular models introduced by IWC include the “Big Pilot”, “Portuguese”, “Aquatimer” and the recent "Da Vinci" Chronograph. Almost all are considered timeless watches and were constantly in demand by consumers. The “Big Pilot” was renowned for its intricate design and attention to minute details. The “Aquatimer” is a favorite amongst divers. It's likable features include the clarity of vision due to luminosity of the dials etc. as well as the “memory” function of the minutes. The “Da Vinci” model was a true classic, boasting precision and perfect synchronization of the month, date and day as well as the moon phase.
