Rado is famous luxury watch that is well-known for its coupling of expert engineering with futuristic designs and features. Renowned for their scratch-proof watches, they are now immensely popular brand in the market.
Rado dates back to the early 1910's but at the time only worked on watch movements. It was only decades later, in late 1950s, that they introduced watches under the Rado brand name. Soon afterwards, they headed the pioneering movement that created the world's first scratch-proof watch. Thus, the company began to consolidate their name in the market.
The growth of the company continued as they joined the SMH group (now known as Swatch) in 1983.
Rado was a pioneer in the watch manufacturing industry. While keeping an eye on maintaining high quality watches, they also sought to incorporate daring new features. Such movements altered the look and feel to produce more futuristic timepieces. Their innovation include substituting sapphire crystal, high-tech ceramics, and high-tech lanthanum for brass and steel. In the end, Rado created a niche for itself amongst their peers.
Many famous celebrities promote Rado watches. German Tennis Player Tommy Haas, Indian actress and model Lisa Ray as well as Chinese actress Zhang JingChu are just some of the popular names associated with the brand.
Where specific Rado models are concerned, the Anatom, Sintra, Coupole, Captain Cook and of course, the DiaStar series are some good examples of top selling Rado types. The first ever DiaStar was the groundbreaking scratch-proof model that popularized Rado's brand name.
